Welcome. You’re In The Right Place.

Hi, I’m Jennifer, a Functional Nutritionist and the founder of Nurture & Flow Nutrition.

I help busy women in midlife who are dealing with digestive discomfort, low energy, and hormone ups and downs that don’t seem to make sense, especially when labs look “normal” and you’re already doing so many things right.

Here’s the thing: symptoms are signals, not random.

When we slow down and look at the full picture through a personalized, root-cause approach, your body starts to make a lot more sense. My role is to help you connect the dots, stop guessing, and move forward with clear, supportive next steps that fit real life.

You don’t need another diet or quick fix. You need understanding, guidance, and a plan built for you.

Tell me if this sounds familiar:

  • You’re constantly second-guessing food, worried that the “wrong” choice will leave you bloated, uncomfortable, or exhausted.

  • Your digestion feels unpredictable, and it’s hard to trust your body day to day.

  • Energy crashes hit in the afternoon, no matter how well you think you’re eating or sleeping.

  • Hormone shifts feel louder than they used to, showing up as mood changes, poor sleep, stubborn weight changes, or feeling off in ways you can’t quite explain.

  • You’ve tried diets, supplements, or cutting foods out, but the relief never lasts.

  • Your labs look “normal,” yet you still don’t feel like yourself.

  • You’re doing so many things “right,” but something still feels missing.

The good news?

It doesn’t have to stay this way. With the right support and a personalized, foundational approach, there’s a clearer, more sustainable path forward.

Most approaches focus on managing symptoms, following rigid food rules, or chasing the next “fix.” You’ve probably tried cutting foods, adding supplements, or pushing harder, only to end up right back where you started.

This approach is different.

Instead of guessing, we look at the full picture to understand why your body is struggling and what it’s actually asking for. No one-size-fits-all plans. Just thoughtful, targeted support that fits your real life.

When we work this way, you can experience steadier energy, calmer digestion, and more confidence around food, all while feeling supported by a plan that truly fits your body.

This isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what your body needs, consistently and with support.

Areas of Focus

digestion & gut health

Digestive symptoms like bloating, gas, constipation, or reflux aren’t random; they’re signals your body is sending that something needs attention. Using functional lab testing, we’ll identify what may be driving these issues and create a plan to restore balance at the root. My goal is to help you find relief and lasting results so you can get back to living your life feeling your best.

Hormone balance

Painful, heavy periods or unpredictable cycles don’t have to be your norm. If you’re navigating PMS, mood swings, migraines, low energy, or food cravings, your body is asking for support. Together, we’ll uncover the root causes behind these shifts and bring your hormones back into balance, helping you feel steady, focused, and empowered in every part of your life.

customized nutrition

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to nourishment. Your body’s needs shift with each stage of life, stress level, and season. Through a personalized nutrition plan that honors your unique physiology, you’ll learn how to eat in a way that supports clear energy, balanced hormones, and a calm, happy gut, so you can feel at home in your body no matter your age.

What Others Are Saying

Christie L., san diego, ca

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“Working with Jennifer has been a wonderful experience!  As a former nurse, I completely understand the limitations of the type of care that is practiced in Western medicine, and that is exactly why I chose to work with Jennifer! As a wellness enthusiast and advocate, I was so excited to know that Jennifer's approach focused on identifying the root causes of the symptoms I was experiencing, rather than taking the band-aid approach of merely focusing on symptom management - she wants to help us heal and thrive!”

teala K., valencia, ca

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I started on this journey feeling the worst I’ve ever felt. Having Jennifer’s guidance and support was huge.  I had lots of confusion around food choices before, and gained clarity with how to nourish my body based on what the labs were telling us. I loved approaching my health from root cause place, and gained a deep understanding for how the body is all connected.”

amanda p., encinitas, ca

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“After working with Jennifer, I have a much better understanding of how my body reacts to food, and how everything is connected to the gut. I feel like I had a great reset, and am back on track with healthy habits.”

kendra C., portland, or

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“Jennifer has the most gentle, holistic, client-focused, results-yielding approach of any practitioner I have EVER had. Especially in recent times, I am so grateful for the time and attention and genuine care Jennifer devotes to me and my husband (and any friend or family member we refer to her). She is knowledgeable and insightful about which lab tests to request so that we can find the actual CAUSES of our health issues.”

FAQs

Do you take insurance?

While I do not take insurance, you may be able to use your health savings account (HSA) if your doctor prescribes a session with a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNPT).

What labs do you use in your practice?

The functional labs I use in my practice include: blood chemistry panel, stool analysis, food sensitivity testing, and hormone panels.

Why are your prices not listed on your website?

As this work is based on your unique circumstances, it is very individual. Some people need a shorter program with minimal testing and others need a much longer program with multiple labs. There is a lot of variability and customization involved, therefore I do not offer standard pricing.

Do you provide dietary recommendations only?

Diet is only one piece of the puzzle, and while it is a big piece, it will not be the sole focus of our work together. You could be eating the best diet in the world, but if your stress levels are through the roof and you’re not sleeping, we’re missing a piece of the puzzle. Our work together will go beyond diet to address lifestyle factors that will round out your holistic healing plan.

Are you going to give me a meal plan?

Depending on your package, you may receive a 1-week meal plan. The bigger goal, however, is for our work together to guide and support you with the tools and resources necessary for you to be able to do this for yourself. My goal is for you to feel empowered and equipped to create new habits that are sustainable. Maintaining healthy habits will be much easier if I teach you the how and why, and then you put it into practice. However, if you still find yourself in need of support, I do offer meal planning as a separate service.

How long does this process take?

It is difficult to say how long, as everyone’s body heals at a different pace. I offer 4-6-month, 1:1 packages and during that time considerable forward progress is made, if not full resolution of symptoms. However, healing occurs in layers so we may choose to work together longer to address additional health concerns. It is important to remember that you didn’t become unwell overnight and healing will take time. You are on a journey and trusting that your body will move at the right pace will allow for a smoother ride.

Will I have to take supplements?

Most of my protocols involve targeted, short-term supplementation when indicated. I only work with professional grade supplements that have gone through rigorous testing and certification. I am not affiliated with any supplement companies so my recommendations are truly based on what I believe will help you achieve your health goals the quickest.

Will I have to give up my favorite foods?

The best part of doing this type of work is discovering incredibly nourishing, delicious new foods that might never have been on your radar. In fact, most clients completely forget about foods they may need to give up for a time because they are so busy enjoying all the new ones. I will always let your symptoms, labs and health goals guide my recommendations, and together we will come up with a plan forward that is achievable for you. It’s important to note that avoiding food sensitivities isn’t a forever thing. Once you address the root cause of what’s causing the food sensitivities, you can heal and then reincorporate those foods as your body signals it’s ready.

Can you help me lose weight?

Weight loss is not my specialty, however, when moving to a nutrient dense, whole foods diet most people naturally experience some weight shifts. We will not be counting calories, but will instead be focused on real food and tuning in to what your body is telling you it needs by how you feel and what your labs are telling us.

How is this approach different then working with my doctor?

As a functional nutritionist I take a preventative, holistic approach that is focused on root cause, customized nutrition and optimization. I use my toolkit of dietary and lifestyle changes to support your journey towards your health goals. Our work is often a wonderful addition to the work you may be already doing with your doctor, and can enhance its effectiveness.
